Zai Jian

On Thursday we took a trip down to Charlottetown to be tourists and check out one of C's old haunts for lunch. Oddly, they were still playing the same music in the restaurant from our University days...

The girls weren't too interested in doing any shopping and mostly wanted to run around with each other. We did manage to get a couple of souvenirs though.

That afternoon, our gracious hosts had a wonderful seafood bbq to say farewell. The four sisters from China and their adoring parents had a great time.

Maeve ate mussels, bar clams, scallops, salmon and PEI potatoes--and loved them all. Between that and her love of the beach the day before, she was dubbed an island girl.

The three little ones played well together at K's water table for hours. Big sister Sara and K's cousin Paige were right in there to help with the entertaining.

It was a wonderful wrap up to our much too short visit to PEI. Many thanks to our island hosts. We had a wonderful time making memories with you.

We're pretty sure these few short days have renewed the bond that Cai Jiao and Cai Ling had in China. Hopefully, this is a continuation of a life long kinship between Kennedy and Maeve.

Now we're all saving up for a trip out west!

We found some amazing sand sculptures in Charlottetown.
But the girls were more intereted in the rocks on the path.
Taking a break in the shade.

K's into it, but M's kinda confused. "There are no ducks or geese! What are you on about?"
When we'd walk, the girls would spontaneously take each other's hand
What sweethearts they are!
M's really into Cheers! now.

Life's a Beach!

Yesterday, we headed up to Joanne and Sara's cottage and hit the beach up there on the North Shore. The weather was perfect and the beach was spectacular! Maeve couldn't get enough of the beach life! She could have stayed there all day.

What a joy it was to see Sara! She is a beautiful young lady and has adjusted amazingly quickly to life in Canada. M & K fell in love with her right away. Especially when she took them over to the toy chest at the restaurant where we had lunch and found them each little cameras!

M & K were then able to turn the tables on us and become the paparazzi!

After a day at the beach we had a lonnnnngggg nap and headed over to Shasha's for a wonderful dinner and a nice visit. Maeve would have stayed and played there all night if we'd let her. Shasha has some excellent toys and Kevin and Catherine are great hosts. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

More Island Hospitality

We had another great day of visiting. Today we met up with Catherine, Kevin, Roshandra and her big brother Luca. Here are a few quick shots and some video clips.

Hey, I know you!

We made it to PEI!

We're kinda tired and have a slow internet connection, so I'm just going to post a few shots.

Kennedy and Maeve, although a little shy at first are getting along famously! Kennedy has been great about sharing all of her toys with her 2 days older, but 2 inches shorter foster sister Maeve. Do they remember each other somewhere in the furthest reaches of their minds? It sure seems to us that they do.

Tomorrow, Bryn will be added to the giggle-fest! And later in the week Roshandra and Sara. You can bet there will be lots of photos and videos coming soon. :-)
