More Island Hospitality

We had another great day of visiting. Today we met up with Catherine, Kevin, Roshandra and her big brother Luca. Here are a few quick shots and some video clips.

Mini Moguls: We've got people to call and business to attend to!
Miss K starts a fashion trend. Big K is a slave to fashion.
Check out my neon blue bandaid!

The three amigos under glass. (I wish the glare hadn't been in this one.)
Excuse me miss. Do you have a license to drive this thing?
Life is good when you are swinging with some buds.
Let's see those big brown eyes Shasha!
R & M & K: apparently M is in a hurry.
Maeve, is the crazy guy your dad?
M shows us her island jig.

Hey, I know you!

We made it to PEI!

We're kinda tired and have a slow internet connection, so I'm just going to post a few shots.

Kennedy and Maeve, although a little shy at first are getting along famously! Kennedy has been great about sharing all of her toys with her 2 days older, but 2 inches shorter foster sister Maeve. Do they remember each other somewhere in the furthest reaches of their minds? It sure seems to us that they do.

Tomorrow, Bryn will be added to the giggle-fest! And later in the week Roshandra and Sara. You can bet there will be lots of photos and videos coming soon. :-)

Cooking up some soup together
Hanging out
M watches K's gymnastics routine
Kisses for sis's
Feeding the babies
Whew, we need a juice break
I'll trace your hand then you trace mine
Peek-a-boo
You crack me up girlfriend!

Thanks for a great day!

A Little Perspective

We often talk about how blessed we are;
- we have a wonderful life with our beautiful daughter
- we have loving families and extended families
- our friends could not be truer
- we live in a beautiful home, in a great neighbourhood, in a booming region, in a wonderful country
- we have fulfilling jobs and work with excellent people
- we have an abundance in our lives that cannot be measured

I came across this website today that really puts some of that into perspective...

Very Belated Happy Father's Day

Where does the week go? I've been a bit delinquent about posting. Happy Father's Day to all you dads and grandpas out there!.

We spent a nice Father's Day visiting with Maeve's 'Pa' and 'Ma'. There were Aunts and Uncle and cousins there too so Maeve had a hoot. She's decided that showing off her belly when wearing a dress is hilarious.

Here are some photos of her antics and a little video of her flashing tendencies. Sorry it is a little dark.

What a crazy kid!

She also started saying some of the Mandarin phrases that she knows. Here's a little video of her telling Pa and Ma that she loves them.

Heat Wave

Summer has come with a vengance. We're going through a heat wave! It has been over 30 degrees C for the past 3 days: even more with the humidex. We don't have air conditioning in the house so poor Maeve has a constant dewy glow and sticky wet hair day and night. I think there is some relief coming soon, but it promises to be a hot summer. Maybe it is time to invest in AC.

Here's our darling girl in her summer outfit from our friends E&P. Not sure what was with the gorilla pose at the end there. The heat must have gotten to her.

Just Me and My Shadow

Since the weather got better (finally!!!) we've been able to get Maeve out on her trike. Her legs are still a little too short to reach the pedals properly so it is still propelled by us, but she is getting the hang of steering pretty well... that is when she isn't distracted by things like her shadow.

Luckily she likes to wear her helmet and knows she can't go out on her trike without it! I had to get one meant for a 5 year old to fit her. Must be all those brains in there.

Her Cup Overfloweth

One of the things that Maeve has been working on is drinking from a cup. She's getting very good at it, but as you can see from this little video, she is too easily distracted. :-)
