My days have been quite full of late. You see, I have sooo much to teach my newbie parents.
I start this particular day off with a gesticular demo of the probiscular communication system of elephants. I have it on good authorithy that they lift up their trunks like this and make a really loud raspberry sound. Unfortunately, unlike elephants Mama and Baba always seem to forget, and ask me to repeat this demo for them each morning ...
I had to teach Baba that when you want Mama to come, you yell really loud like this... He later confessed that he finds my approach to getting Mama's attention "ingenious and invigorating".
Come along Baba. We have much shopping to do, and the royal naptime approacheth ...
The Queen gives her serf-cousin Mike a piece of professional advice: "You see this play? Just drop back to here and pick up the guy coming along the boards. You'll break his rhythm, mess up the other team's game."
"No, I'm not doing any interviews right now. Please speak to my under-secretary---that's her in back---and make an appointment."
"Darned papparazzi. Must I pose endlessly for the camera? Please go away ... I'm having a busy day circumnavigating this improbably large outdoor bathtub in my Auntie Col's backyard."
Hmm, my first Canada Day! What shall I do to celebrate? I know. I'll take Mama and Baba to the FOI annual get together at Black Creek Pioneer Village. Hey look! Elizabeth and Katie are here with their parents too. Wow, Elizabeth is bigger than I am now! And she has way more teeth. I'd better start growing to catch up.
Hey this village is great! I can practise my walking by wandering into houses to check things out. See my walking shoes and fancy pants?
Whoa! Look at those big horses.
Here sheep. Here sheep. Would you come here already! These sheep aren't very well trained.
Afterwards, Princess Katie invited us back to her parent's palace for a royal meal. Here's Princess Katie with some of her royal friends from China. Thanks for the great party Uncle Rob and Auntie Aggie.
What an exhausting day. Being Canadian sure is tiring.
Our Maeve put on her hippest party dress and headed out with Mama, Baba, Gunggung and Popo to Cousin Robyn's 1st Birthday. The car ride was a bit long. And although she can't actually say things like "Are we there yet?" and "Let's get this party started!", they were clearly written on Maevey's face.
At some point during the party the two cousins were trading plastic pet stories when Cousin Robyn decided that the penguin would make a tasty snack. Maeve was taken aback by this, but it was too late to save poor penguin from the drool bath that ensued. Oh well. Penguins like the water don't they?
Happy 1st Birthday Cousin Robyn! and Happy Father's Day Uncle Andrew.
