Night Market, and goodbye to HK

In the second pic Kath is up on Victoria's Peak, overlooking the city ... and in the background distance is the top of the highest building in Hong Kong(look just to the left of the lion statue). That's the building Kath's second-cousin Peter works in.

Second last pic shows Kath laughing off HK's famous martial artist export, Bruce Lee. (Or at least, a waxwork effigy :))

The final pic: Kent, Shirley, Lucilla and Marcus front row; Peter, Kath and me in back.

Up next, a wonder-moment in equatorial Singapore!

excellent pics - love the night market taken on the street - we miss you guys! looking forward to hearing about singapore.

had to write and tell you that miller and bram were visiting grandma and grandpa and they read 'i love you like crazy cakes' there and in the car on the way home, i asked the boys if they were excited about being maeve's big cousins and i asked miller what he was going to teach to maeve cuz she'd be learning from them and he said, "i'm going to teach her to walk and talk" and i said to bram, "what about you, bram?" and bram replied, "i'm going to teach her how to walk and cry". i nearly had to pull the car over cuz the answer made me laugh so hard because if there's anything bram can teach someone, it's how to cry (especially with big crocodile tears). i think he had been listening to me describe what little babies are like because earlier, miller had said he wanted 10 babies and i said that's going to be a lot of work for you because babies like to sleep a lot, cry a lot, eat a lot and poop a lot. haha. i guess bram doesn't, at this time want to teach maeve how to poop (he's resisting the toilet-training as best he can).

anyway, he did say the words proudly like they were both skills he knew well and felt confident he can pass on...xoxo

love you - thought this would make you laugh,

Sheila, that's hilarious! Here in Kuala Lumpur, it's Tuesday morning. And we're at Lucilla's brother Sam's. And I read your comment to the extended family to the distant sound of the Muslim call to prayer as we dug into fresh papaya for breakfast, and Chrysanthemum tea, and a fruit I'd never tasted before (San Jook, aka Mango Steen---so delicious!)

Well, the whole family burst out laughing at Bram's suggestion for instructing Maeve ...

Love to all of you, and it seems like we've been away for years! Maevey-baby still seems a long way away. Yesterday we spent most of the day driving back from Ipoh through the fabulous Cameron Highlands to Kuala Lumpur (will tell you about the aboriginal blow-pipe hunters we spotted in the high jungle, pulled over and went into their village to talk to in a later post---they demo'd their blow-pipe hunting techniques for us, though they don't speak any English. Fortunately, Lucilla speaks their dialect, as she grew up in Ipoh!)

Before reaching Maeve, we still have to spend a day travelling all the way down the Malay peninsula back into Singapore. Then fly from Singapore to Beijing. Then fly from Beijing to Nanchang!

Travelling, travelling, the world is spinning, we're more than a world away ...
Paddy and Kitty :)
