Meet Our Xiao Bao Bao, Mao-Maeve Lili

Hi all,
sorry this took so long to post, but we've just gotten Maeve down into her crib now (Kath's still at her side, our little Mao's still hitching in her sleep ... Naturally, she's been very upset, stressed, boiling with heat, feverish with fear even when we had her dressed in a cool sleeper and little else.)
Will have to update on how the day went tomorrow, don't want to wake her typing this! Oh, she just started sobbing again ...
First pic: we spotted her as soon as we walked into the adoption center, before anyone else in our group spotted any of their daughters. (She just cried out again---Kath has to sleep directly beside the crib and keep her hand on her, coo to her).
Rest of the pics follow in sequence ... Must cease typing now, as I'm keeping bao bao awake.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments, and don't stay up all night on our account---it's bad enough that we three will likely get little rest tonight!
Signing off deliriously happy from the Galactic, (well, two of three of us) Mr., Mrs., and Miss Forde in Nanchang :) 11 pm on Gotcha Day

She is beautiful like her mother!

Poor little angel. Our hearts go out to her - but she is blessed. Thanks for the pictures! Let her sleep. We'll be patient.

The two of you must be in heaven.

oh my god she is soooo beautiful!! i'm sitting here crying and with every picture i'm opening, i'm talking to maeve as if she can hear me which is ridiculous but i just want to say comforting words to her - 'everything's going to be all right, little one' and 'don't worry, little luv, your mommy and daddy are here and love you very much' - her eyes are so sad but so beautiful. she's going to be all right!!

i love the one of her falling asleep in daddy's arms - her eyes still a tiny bit open like she's fighting sleep.

love the 6th one from the top - mommy and daughter - so lovely. of course, you look like a total natural, kitty - you're amazing and i knew you would be.

i was scrolling down the pics before i opened each one and pat, when i got to the ones of you holding her, i lost it. i love the one of her daddy kissing her little precious head.

it's going to be all right, honey - you'll get through this and everything will be all right. we love you love you love you!!!

now get some sleep! it's so great she already needs mommy to soothe her.

thank you so much for sending these - and for the note - but don't worry about us too much - take care of yourselves - and your beautiful daughter - what a beauty!!!!! i knew she'd have a lot more hair...gorgeous!! can't wait to hold her. lucilla looks so beautiful with her grandchild!!! and marcus the proud grandpa!

i love the first family photo!!! thank you thank you thank you for sharing these first memories and hours with us!!!

love you all, aaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!! we're so thrilled! each day will get a little better...and she'll get a little closer to you every day!! it's going to be all right!!!

love,
sheila, geoff, miller and bram

We've been checking and checking the website, so were soo delighted to see the photos and comments today! We are so excited for you! And the delight and interest come from many directions -- I told my mum in Seattle about your news, then she told my brother, who asked me for the link to your site, because 20 years ago, he and my sister-in-law adopted a baby from Korea. We'll continue to monitor your site and keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Sharing your joy and sending hugs across the world -- Nancy, David, Lukas and Josh :)

end of day for me and i'm off to yoga...where my sun salutations might be directed a little as well to this little moonbeam you're holding in your arms - celebrating Prana that LIFE FORCE - what a wonder it can be - just look at that precious little mouth - her expression is beyond beautiful. those little eyebrows questioning, a little timid but curious... and those dark button eyes. Maeve - we knew you'd intoxicate us, but someone cut me off now. (actually she looks a little intoxicated herself in that photo with one eye barely open in Pat's arms! ha HA!)

my favourite photos - the ones that choke me up...

number 2: kath taking her into her arms (doesn't maeve look like she's trying to read the celtic scrolls and text on kath's blouse?)

number 6: that absolutely stunning new mother leaning her chin against her daughter's little head...

number 12: drunk with love for her new daddy (she swoons, he swoons)

number 14: a proud, sleepy baba kissing his little angel nuer. pat - you look like a natural as does kath! so thrilled beyond words for you both...for the THREE of you, i should say...

you've moved from a couple to a family overnight, one fell swoop. and what a beautiful family you make. can't wait to make those eyes laugh and giggle once she gets over the initial stages of change and shock... thinking so very much of her right now - but you'll see - in no time at all, she'll be reaching for you and crying if she's out of YOUR arms and wanting her mama and baba to keep near her...

til i can hold her myself, take a break from the posts and just ENJOY - savour this feeling - it must be incomparable - drink it in - savour every drop of it..it's been a long time coming and more than a million times over deserved for the waiting and longing that's preceded it...

woa ai ni pat, kath and maeve...
